About

Unpublished Tour is an arts programme that engages with the hidden and inaccessible edges along the Duddon Estuary and the restoration of Haverigg Dunes. Since August, artists participating in Unpublished Tour have explored these places from the land and the water as sites for shared creative journeys.

Come along and see the results of their work in a variety of artistic approaches and media — from environmental interventions, writing and performance to film and photography — and the ways it engages with a landscape in the process of change. In total, the works that comprise Unpublished Tour will help to reveal the characteristics, features and qualities that mark the Duddon estuary and the surrounding landscape as a place in need of special protection.

A central aim of this programme has been to foster a desire for a living legacy that helps to preserve the Duddon Estuary’s unique qualities for future generations. The work, in part, is inspired by William Wordsworth's 'The River Duddon, A Series of Sonnets' from which the project title was later derived.
