Sing to Encounter Me (2021)

Sing to Encounter Me is an experimental film shot on and around The Duddon Estuary in Cumbria. Whilst the project deals with themes of isolation and shifting time, it also documents and celebrates the Duddon Inshore Rescue organisation and the difficulties of the job that they undertake.

On the one hand, the film is a ghost story, glimpsing into the past through the dreamlike heathlands of Askam-in-Furness. On the other, it examines the natural details of the ever changing sands, landscapes littered with maritime relics, and how a place can be defined by extreme tidal waters.

This film is to be screened as part of the Unpublished Tour arts and literature event which is funded by the Arts Council National Lottery Projects Grant, working with local communities and partner organisations around the Duddon estuary.

The Raft (2021)

On The Duddon Estuary, Cumbria in the last days of summer 2021, an artist endeavoured to make a site specific work. The Raft is a film which documents her journey, process and the challenges that are faced in producing work of this kind.

Throughout this journey themes of place, memory, environmental issues and social disparity are examined, leading to an explorative meditation on land, water and the natural world.

This film was produced as part of the Unpublished Tour arts and literature event and is part funded by the Arts Council National Lottery Projects Grant, working with local communities and partner organisations around the Duddon estuary.
